The Promet EExd Process Moisture Analyzer is a hazardous-area rated industrial hygrometer system designed for continuous online measurement of moisture content and dew point in process gases such as natural gas and other hydrocarbon streams. The Promet EExd is fitted with integral pressure measurement and offers flexible unit selection for dew point, moisture content, and pressure — calculated for either ideal or natural gas according to ISO 18453 or IGT#8.
Description
Measurement Technology
The Promet EExd uses a Michell Ceramic Metal-Oxide Moisture Sensor, which senses the partial pressure of water vapour in the sample gas. The sensor’s impedance changes proportionally to the water vapour concentration, and the instrument electronics convert this into accurate dew point and moisture content readings.
The analyzer offers both single-channel and dual-channel configurations, enabling simultaneous or redundant measurements as required. Continuous moisture and pressure data are recorded with configurable logging intervals, and the moisture readings can be converted automatically into various units including ppmV, lb/MMscf, and mg/m³ based on the selected gas type and pressure conditions.
The internal temperature of the analyzer is controlled to provide stable measurement conditions and reduce the effects of ambient temperature fluctuations on the sampling system. This helps maintain measurement accuracy and minimizes errors due to temperature-related adsorption or desorption effects.
The Promet EExd is suitable for use in hazardous areas without external barriers, simplifying installation and reducing cost. It integrates analog and digital communication outputs for process control system integration and provides configurable alarm outputs to support automated plant monitoring.
